Some people choose to address their weight issues by investing in diets, exercising and maybe even fasting to lose the weight; however, another option people have at their disposal is liposuction.
Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure where fat is surgically or non-surgically removed from various parts of the human body. Areas like the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, neck and the arms; especially from the back of the arms, are the most targeted areas when it comes to liposuction. Terms like lipoplasty, liposculpture suction lipectomy and simply “lipo” has also been used to describe the procedure of liposuction; however, liposuction isn’t isolated to one particular way of removing fatty tissue from our bodies. There’s also a non-surgical liposuction procedure that can also be conducted for the removal of fat from various parts of bodies.
Non-surgical liposuction is a more eccentric method to the popular liposuction procedure that many people have opted for; instead of choosing to have surgery performed. This procedure is performed through the use of a variety of technologies such as attempting to melt and so call liquefy the fat cells of an individual by means of the more non-invasive style like ultra-Sonics, lasers and in some cases through injecting chemical agents. Basically what happens is that the skin is induced into a tightening position for the purpose of avoiding excessive amounts of fat which is cause through fat reduction. There are basically three different types of technologies to choose from with non-surgical liposuction; and they are ultrasound waves, laser and the “CoolLipo” laser procedure. According to research and studies conducted on these procedures there are no risks or side effects involved; plus there’s entirely no use of anesthesia used through the procedure and when the three technologies are combined it has been reported to produce better results.
The abovementioned form of technology has been around since the 1980’s and finally became approved in the United States through the Food and Drug Administration two years ago (2007). This method of liposuction is evolving at rapid rates and new technologies have already been approved for use by health departments in various other countries; however, many of them have not been approved by the FDA.
There are a number of people in the world today that have issues with their weight. With the advent of liposuction their complications, embarrassments and discomfort can be alleviated with a simple procedure that has been proven to work in favor of the client. In order for the procedure to go smoothly it’s highly recommended that you be in good health, be a non-smoker, within 25 pounds of your target weight, no serious or significant problems with your health, and be capable of exercising regularly. If you meet these specification then liposuction, albeit, surgical or non-surgical is the choice for you.
And finally, do your research into liposuction procedures in order to be prepared both mentally and physically for what your surgeon may have to offer for your special situation. It pays to be informed, not misinformed!
